About Garden State Go
Garden State Go started in a pretty simple way: we just wanted to find more things to do.
Like a lot of people, we spent plenty of time scrolling through phones and looking for ideas online, but it always felt harder than it should be to discover fun places nearby. At first, we were just looking for new things to do as a couple—weekend walks, local wineries, small towns to explore, and places we had never heard about before even though they were right here in New Jersey.
Then life changed a bit. Our family started growing, and suddenly our idea of a good outing shifted. Instead of just date nights, we were looking for playgrounds, farms, zoos, trails, kid-friendly museums, and places where we could get out of the house and let a child run around and explore.
What we noticed pretty quickly is that a lot of the best places aren’t always easy to find. Many are shared through word of mouth, buried in social media posts, or scattered across different websites. Some amazing spots are only known by locals.
That’s really what inspired Garden State Go.
The goal is simple: make it easier for families, couples, and curious explorers to discover great places around New Jersey.
We believe some of the best memories come from stepping away from screens and getting outside. Going somewhere new. Walking through a small downtown you’ve never visited. Finding a hidden park. Watching animals at a local farm. Grabbing ice cream after a day at the beach. Taking a spontaneous road trip on a Saturday morning.
New Jersey is actually full of these kinds of experiences. From the mountains in the north to the beaches in the south, there’s an incredible variety of things to see and do if you know where to look.
Garden State Go is meant to help with that.
Here you’ll find ideas for places to visit, activities to try, and destinations that make it easier to plan a day out. Some are well-known spots, and others are smaller hidden gems worth discovering. Our hope is that this site makes it easier to explore more of what New Jersey has to offer.
Because sometimes the best plan is simply this: pick a place, get in the car, and go see something new.
And if it helps someone spend a little less time scrolling and a little more time exploring, then Garden State Go is doing exactly what we hoped it would do.
